JARC 74112 variety, washed process
Roasted for filter brewing
Fresh peach, bergamot, and dried cranberry
This coffee comes from the Telila washing station in Jimma, Ethiopia, with the fruit grown in the Gure Kesso kebele. It’s produced by Mike Mamo, the owner and manager of the Telila washing station, who sources coffee cherries from smallholder farmers in the Gure Kesso village.
This is Mike’s first year buying cherries from the Gure Kesso kebele, and continues what we’ve come to love about his coffees — meticulous attention to detail, especially in the drying process, resulting in a cup that’s crisp, clean, and elegant.
Mike’s commitment to separating lots according to kebele on arrival at the washing station is somewhat rare in Ethiopian coffee production, but for us, it’s an excellent additional step allowing greater insight into what each micro-region has to offer.
We’re finding that the coffee from Gure Kesso offers a sweet, juicy flavour profile, tasting of fresh peach, bergamot, and dried cranberry. The cup is aromatic and layered, with hints of Earl Grey tea and a velvety texture.
This is our second time purchasing from Mike Mamo’s Telila washing station through our import partners, Osito.
